Society Garlic features slender, grey-green, strap-like leaves that form dense clumps. When bruised or crushed, the leaves (and flowers) emit a distinct garlic scent, deterring many pests.

From spring through autumn, it bears umbels of delicate, fragrant, lavender-pink to mauve, star-shaped flowers on tall, slender stems. These are highly attractive to butterflies and bees.

A versatile and remarkably low-maintenance plant, it is drought-tolerant once established and generally unbothered by pests or diseases. The leaves and flowers are edible, with a mild garlic-chive flavor.

Grow in full sun in well-drained soil for best results. It can adapt to moister conditions at pond edges if not waterlogged, making it suitable for borders, herb gardens, containers, and as an edging plant.
